Death #8 Drunk Driving

This piece focuses on drunk driving. As an installation piece the background and setting are as important as the sculpture itself. The piece is a life-sized packing tape sculpture with a beer bottle for a hand getting into a car. The packing tape was difficult to use because it is so easily dented and morphed after the man was finished. It was hard to preserve the body once I finished assembling it. 

Death #7 Walled

So this project was one of the most challenging yet. I started with plaster bandage molds of my face and hands. I then constructed the 5" x 2" wooden box from spare ply wood in our garage. I mixed my cement and laid my first layer in the box then fit in my face and hands. Then I mixed a second layer of cement over the sculpture and let it dry. I spray painted the piece black first then with a stone texture paint. 

Death #6 Slit

This setup sprung on me quickly. I had been practicing my plaster bandage hands and had a lot of extra hands (pun). I had borrowed and need to return Mrs. Danahy's Exacto knife and I thought how many teenagers die from cutting every year. I like the setup in the sink with the water running transforming my piece into an installation 

Death #5 Electrocution

For this project I am depicting the electrocution of a small baby. Of course I can not use a real Baby for modeling purposes I bought a baby doll from Kmart and wrapped it in plaster bandage. I then positioned my baby, its fork, and my lighting to take the picture.
